Russia Considering Extension of Gasoline Export Ban

by Yuki

The Russian government is considering extending the gasoline export restrictions for an additional two months, potentially lasting until the end of October 2025.

The gasoline export ban was first introduced in March 2024 in response to rising wholesale fuel prices and concerns about domestic shortages.

In November 2024, the ban was partially lifted for major producers, but independent traders and resellers remained subject to the restrictions.

The possible extension was discussed at a recent government meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
