Bangkok Airways & PTT Oil Partner for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production

by Yuki

Bangkok Airways and PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on the production and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Thailand. This partnership is the first of its kind in the country and aims to support the sustainability goals of both companies, contributing to a greener future for Thailand’s aviation sector.

The LOI was signed at Bangkok Airways’ headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Dechit Chareonwong, Senior Executive Vice President of Operations at Bangkok Airways, and Mr. Chaipruet Watchareekhup, Aviation and Marine Marketing Manager at OR.

Mr. Chareonwong highlighted that this partnership is a significant step in Bangkok Airways’ commitment to sustainability. The airline’s “Low Carbon Skies by Bangkok Airways” initiative focuses on reducing carbon emissions throughout its operations. The use of domestically produced SAF aligns with the airline’s objectives and supports the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
