Routine Gas Work in Washington May Cause Noise, Flame, and Odor

Piedmont Natural Gas is scheduled to conduct routine maintenance in Washington from May 9 to May 16, weather permitting. The work will take place near 1908 West 5th Street, according to a company release.

As part of the maintenance, crews will use a flare stack, which may produce a loud noise and a visible flame. Residents and businesses in the area may also notice a whistling sound or the smell of natural gas during the operation.
