Eight OPEC+ countries—Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman—have announced a production adjustment of 411,000 barrels per day (kb/d) for June 2025, compared to the required production level for May 2025. Citing strong market fundamentals, the group plans to implement three monthly increments, which may be paused or reversed depending on market conditions.
For June 2025, the new required production levels for the eight countries will be as follows:
Saudi Arabia: 9,367 kb/d
Russia: 9,161 kb/d
Iraq: 4,086 kb/d
UAE: 3,092 kb/d
Kuwait: 2,466 kb/d
Kazakhstan: 1,500 kb/d
Algeria: 928 kb/d
Oman: 775 kb/d
In November 2023, OPEC+ producers had agreed to voluntary output cuts totaling 2.2 million barrels per day (mbl/d) for the first quarter of 2024 to support prices and stabilize the market. These cuts were extended through the end of 2024 and into March 2025. In early March 2025, the eight producers agreed to begin reversing their 2.2 mbl/d voluntary cuts over an 18-month period, from April 2025 to September 2026. This plan also includes a 300 kb/d increase in the UAE’s production target during this period.
