U.S. Interested in Investing in Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline

by Yuki

Wale Edun, Nigeria’s minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, has announced that the United States has expressed interest in investing in the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline (NMGP) project.

Edun made the disclosure in a statement on Saturday, highlighting outcomes from the ministry’s bilateral engagements during the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C.

The NMGP project, initially approved by Nigeria’s federal executive council (FEC) on June 1, 2022, involves an agreement between the defunct Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for the pipeline’s construction.
