India has experienced an extraordinary 2,300% increase in the number of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) stations over the past decade, according to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Alongside this significant rise, piped natural gas (PNG) connections have surged by 467%, and LPG connections have more than doubled.
Minister Puri shared these milestones on the social media platform X, highlighting them as a testament to India’s commitment to a greener and healthier future. He emphasized, “These are not just numbers — they represent key milestones in our journey toward a ‘Healthy India with Clean Fuel’. They prove that big changes are achievable with fresh ideas, genuine intentions, and hard work.”
The minister credited these transformative developments to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose guidance has driven significant growth in India’s energy infrastructure.
“These achievements have laid the groundwork for a developed India. On this foundation, we are constructing the grand edifice of a new and empowered nation,” Puri concluded.
