Standard Motor Products (SMP) has significantly broadened its gasoline fuel injection program, now offering more than 1,100 new parts designed to meet the needs of modern vehicles. This expansion includes a variety of gasoline direct injection (GDI), multi-port fuel injection (MFI), and throttle body injection (TBI) injectors. Alongside these injectors, SMP’s program features a full range of related fuel system components such as high-pressure fuel pumps, fuel feed lines, pressure sensors, regulators, dampers, and service kits.
The new parts are engineered to match original equipment (OE) specifications for spray patterns and flow rates. This alignment helps optimize both fuel efficiency and engine performance for a wide range of domestic and imported vehicles. All injectors are produced in SMP’s IATF 16949-certified manufacturing facility, ensuring strict quality standards. Each injector undergoes rigorous testing that includes over 35 different checks covering endurance, thermal cycling, vibration resistance, and flow performance.
Recent additions to the program include GDI and MFI injectors compatible with popular models such as the 2020–2025 Nissan Frontier and the 2021–2025 Subaru Crosstrek. SMP also offers multi-pack injector sets that cover more than 31 million vehicles across various makes and models. The expanded product line is designed to provide comprehensive solutions for fuel system repairs and upgrades.
In addition to injectors, SMP’s program features more than 115 high-pressure fuel pump SKUs. These pumps are built to withstand demanding conditions, including high-heat environments commonly found in modern engines. Constructed with stainless steel components and high-temperature seals, these pumps undergo extensive lab and vehicle testing to ensure durability and reliable long-term performance.
John Herc, vice president of vehicle control marketing at SMP, emphasized the ongoing growth of the fuel injection program. He stated that the company continually adds new injectors, high-pressure pumps, and related parts to meet evolving automotive technologies and customer demands.
